We are looking for a good communicator with an eye for detail who can absorb new information easily. The post requires confidence in working and engaging with senior officers from within the Council or external organisations and councillors on a day to day basis.
The Committee Manager post represents a great opportunity to understand the breadth of the Council's work, occupying a unique position at the centre of the organisation. Within the respected Committee Services team of Democratic Services, we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who will be responsible for servicing a range of committee meetings, panels, boards and working groups. This includes agenda preparation, report writing, minute taking and the provision of detailed procedural advice.
You will also provide advice and guidance to internal and external customers on all matters relating to the democratic process. You will need to be confident and able to engage effectively with senior officers, Councillors and partners.
One of the post's primary duties is the administration of weekly Senior or Operational Leadership Team meetings every Wednesday morning. The team is also responsible for administering major elections and referendums (such as general, local and police).
