This post is a career graded post and there may be opportunities to progress within the Revenues and Benefits Service area. The Role As a Collections Officer, you will be dealing with all aspects of council tax work, which includes billing households, awarding discounts and exemptions, and setting payment plans mixed with telephone support when needed. Key responsibilities include: Dealing directly with customers via letter, email, and phone – providing excellent customer service at all times. Updating systems and records. Contributing ideas to improve ways of working. Keeping your knowledge up to date via the web, publications, briefing notes, and training opportunities. Processing changes/new accounts through Citizens Access. Carrying out Land Registry searches. Ensuring all accounts have accurate and up-to-date key contact details, such as telephone contact number(s), email address, contact address, and appointee details. Responding directly to customers\’ inquiries. This is a career graded post. There may be the opportunity to move through the grades once eligible criteria have been met. This role involves working from home with days in the office environment.
