We are looking to employ casual refuse drivers at various locations across East Riding of Yorkshire.
Responsibilities include:
- Driving a refuse vehicle to collect household and commercial waste from a variety of locations e.g. domestic properties, schools, shops etc.
- Assisting in the loading of the vehicle when not driving, working as part of the operating team with a hands-on approach, ensuring the effective delivery of the day-to-day waste service collections.
You must be flexible to work overtime or weekends to catch up the refuse/recycling service after a bank holiday, due to vehicle breakdown, inclement weather or other operational pressures. On occasions, when the service dictates, you will be required to work on Saturdays and Bank/Public Holidays for which the appropriate enhancement will be paid.
We seek a person who preferably has refuse collection experience, although training can be given where necessary. Initiative, communication skills, the ability to work in a team and good customer care skills are essential for this post.
