The East Riding of Yorkshire Council\’s Housing Maintenance Unit is highlighting its commitment to investing in the local people in the area in which it serves by offering a post of a permanent Bricklayer.

Based at the Beverley Depot, the successful candidate will assist in the responsibility for the repairs and maintenance of the Council\’s Social Housing Stock within the East Riding.

We are specifically looking for someone who is experienced in the building industry, preferably being able to multi skill.

The post will require you to carry out minor bricklaying, plastering, floor tiling, fencing, paving/concreting works, drainage works and void works.

There is an option to work overtime or be part of the weekly call out rota.

This is a job where you have the option to start your working day from your home, providing you can show us evidence of a full driving licence.

You will be paired with an experienced member of staff to help you adjust to the way we work within the Housing Maintenance Unit until you are happy to go it alone. We are looking for staff that are self-motivated and can work either on their own, or within a team and have the ability to provide a good level of workmanship.

There are various training opportunities to help you in your job, or progressing within the authority.

You will be enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme, giving you some form of security for retirement and a generous yearly paid holiday entitlement.
