East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker (Adults) to join their Hospital Social Work Team on a locum basis. Opportunities are available at Hull Royal Infirmary, with additional cover supporting the North East Lincolnshire Acute Trusts.
This is a fast-paced, frontline hospital role suited to a confident practitioner with strong Care Act and Mental Capacity Act (MCA) experience. You will play a vital role in supporting safe, timely discharges while ensuring statutory duties are met and adults' rights and wellbeing remain central to decision-making.
The Role
- Completing Care Act assessments in line with statutory responsibilities
- Undertaking Mental Capacity Assessments (MCA) and best interest decision-making
- Working closely within multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) across acute hospital settings
- Supporting complex discharge planning and risk management
- Managing a varied and demanding caseload within a hospital environment
- Maintaining accurate, timely and high-quality case records
What You'll Need
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant post-qualified experience at Senior level
- Proven experience completing Care Act and Mental Capacity Act assessments
- Strong MDT working skills within a hospital or health setting
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
