Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for supporting the ongoing professional development of other Social Workers and social care Practitioners? Do you want to work as part of a team that’s focussed on improving outcomes for people through outstanding Social Work practice? Do you want to develop your skills and your autonomy and accountability as a leader and change enabler? If YES ... this could be the role for you.
We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to cover maternity leave and temporarily join the practice development team to:
- Lead our ASYE programme, working with Children’s services to deliver this and continuously improve our offer.
- Represent the Service with Skills for Care to maintain our compliance with the ASYE requirements and standards.
- Work in partnership with colleagues in ERYC Children’s Services and other regional Local Authority Adult Services to support moderation of ASYE programmes across the region.
- Develop and manage a training and CPD offer for ASYE Assessors.
- Provide professional leadership for the ERYC ASCH ASYE Programme.
- Evaluate our current Career Progression Pathway and implement any changes.
- Support the ongoing professional development of social workers in line with Social Work England requirements.
- Support our continued implementation of quality supervision across the Adult Social Care Workforce.

The role includes supporting our improvement journey and contributing to further development of our Model of Practice and Quality Practice Framework.
As Professional Practice Lead – with a focus on Social Work and Social Care Careers, you will be expected to provide leadership to the Adult Social Care and Health Workforce. Experience in social work practice, people development, resilience, and motivation for change are central to this role.
The following prerequisites to undertake this role must also apply:
- You must be a registered social worker with experience of adult social care.
- You must hold a recognised Practice Educator qualification and have maintained currency or be an experienced ASYE assessor.
- You must demonstrate a good knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and ability to work within the legislative framework of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
If you are enthusiastic, motivated and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, are a good team player with excellent organisational, administrative, communication and IT skills, have good attention to detail, with the flexibility to respond to varying workload demands we would love to hear from you!
