The Council's Legal Services is looking to appoint a full-time Principal Solicitor or Lawyer within the specific field of housing law and litigation. As a highly experienced Solicitor or Lawyer within this specific field, you will lead and advise on high risk, high value and complex legal matters and provide professional expert guidance and support to other lawyers within the area of housing and litigation.

You will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX lawyer with litigation practising rights and substantial proven experience in advocating and advising on the law relating to housing and litigation and dealing with complex legal matters, preferably with experience in dealing with local authority legal work.

The ideal candidate should be a strong team player with a pro-active and can-do approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively at all levels across the council including with elected members, senior leadership team and other stakeholders.
