We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and professional HR practitioner to join our Human Resources team and support the effective delivery of high‑quality HR services across the council. This role plays an important part in ensuring consistent, fair and efficient HR practices that enable the organisation to meet its priorities.

You will be a confident, proactive and customer‑focused HR professional with strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships. You will provide generalist HR advice to managers and employees, supporting the full range of HR activities including recruitment and selection, equality, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, policy implementation and employee engagement.

You will be able to interpret and apply policies and procedures, provide clear and accurate advice, and work effectively within a legal and procedural framework. You will have the relevant professional qualification at degree level and/or demonstrable experience at a comparable level within a related professional field of expertise.

The role involves supporting managers and Senior HR Colleagues with HR casework, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, attendance management and other employee relations matters. You will apply local and national terms and conditions of service and ensure consistent implementation across the council.

We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual who can manage competing priorities, use their initiative to solve problems, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Strong ICT, analytical and planning skills are essential.
