The HR Advice Centre is a key administrative support function, working closely with internal and external customers. Reporting to the Employment Services Advisor, the centre manages a range of HR activities and offers guidance on staff policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Issue Statements of Main Terms and Conditions and related updates.
  • Process employee updates on the council’s HR/payroll system (iTrent).
  • Provide guidance and support on staff policies via email and phone.
  • Action and update records for the Teachers Pensions and Local Government Pensions Schemes.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for people services queries.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have previous customer service experience and be confident handling basic administrative duties. A basic understanding of employment terms and conditions or pay legislation is advantageous, though full training will be provided.

Working Conditions:

The role offers a flexible working system Monday to Friday. New starters are expected to work in the office during initial training; thereafter, work from home is permitted with compulsory office attendance on regular and training‑event days. Daily hours may be negotiated to accommodate caring responsibilities.

Hours & Notice:

We are advertising one full‑time permanent vacancy (37 hours per week) and one fixed‑term vacancy (13 hours per week) with an expected end date of 31/03/2027. Additional fixed‑term positions may become available depending on the recruitment outcome.
