Responsibilities
- The post holder will be responsible for delivering operational social work services to adults and their families in line with national legislation and best practice guidance.
- You will be responsible for management, administration and development of operational social work services in accordance with national and local standards/policies.
- Effective staff supervision, development and leadership, caseload weighting.
- Contribution to Adult Support and Protection, planning for Adult services and supporting the ongoing implementation of local service redesign.
Your work will reflect your knowledge of and commitment to Self Directed Support principles. You will be involved in financial and other resource management, performance management and service development and will be expected to promote targeted interventions for adults and their families within our integrated model of health and social care. You will also support colleagues in the development of initiatives, plans, and policies related to high standards of service provision.
Qualifications
- Applicants will hold a professional social work qualification and be able to demonstrate considerable social work experience.
- Previous supervisory experience, excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills and a post registration management qualification will be an advantage.
Employment Terms
Hybrid employees are considered workplace based first, but they will have a level of flexibility to work from home up to 40% of their working week, if it is not to the detriment of their current tasks, team requirements or service needs.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children and protected adults. In addition to this, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check. This post requires Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration. You must currently have registration or eligibility to apply from commencement of employment (you must apply to register within the first 3 months of employment to ensure registration is complete within 6 months of starting in your role).
