This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Council’s Planning and Building Standards Service within the Environment Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling and assessing a wide range of planning and related applications. You will have the opportunity to process small and large applications, and will be involved with residential, commercial and business developments, as well as proposals involving listed buildings and conservation areas. You will take applications through from pre-application discussions, applications and appeals.
East Renfrewshire is an attractive and prosperous area and you will contribute to maintaining high environmental standards and promoting sustainable development in the area. You should be well organised and able to manage a wide and challenging workload. You should be a good communicator who can engage positively with customers in a firm and fair manner, and have good personal and written skills.
Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40-60% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.
