The Principal Social Worker & HSCP Practice, Governance and Workforce Lead is a senior strategic leadership role with corporate accountability for professional practice, public protection coordination, clinical and care governance coordination, and workforce learning and development across the Health and Social Care Partnership.
Exercise system‑wide leadership for public protection, quality improvement, governance and workforce capability across professions and partner organisations. The role provides professional advice and assurance to the Chief Officer, Chief Social Work Officer, Senior Leadership Team, Elected Members and the Integration Joint Board, ensuring that statutory responsibilities, professional standards and governance arrangements are robust, integrated and inspection‑ready.
The successful candidate will be working closely with the Chief Nurse and other executive professional leads. The postholder will co‑lead delivery of the HSCP Workforce Strategy and Plan, ensuring a coherent, partnership‑wide approach to learning, development, leadership and continuous improvement.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. This post requires Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration.
