We are looking for an Early Years Play Worker to provide support to the Child Development Officers at Cart Mill Family Centre. Responsibilities include assisting with practical tasks, preparing teaching materials and resources, preparing for snack times, and supporting children during mealtimes.
Applicants must have, or be willing to undertake, a minimum qualification of SVQ Level 2 (or NC equivalent) in child care and education, or an equivalent qualification recognized by SSSC. If applicants do not possess this qualification at the time of application, they must source and fund the training themselves and complete the course within 5 years of starting the role. Experience working with children aged 0-5 years in a nursery environment is desirable.
Salary and Benefits: Upon completing additional years of service by 1 January each year, following the anniversary of the appointment, your term-time salary will include a payment in lieu of the additional leave day accrued at the beginning of each leave year, for the first 10 years of service.
Regulations and Requirements: This position is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children. If you have lived or worked outside the UK in the past 10 years, an overseas police check may be required.
This role requires Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration. You must have current registration or be eligible to apply from the start of employment. You are required to apply for registration within the first 3 months of employment, to ensure it is completed within 6 months.
