Job Title: Early Years Play Worker
We are seeking an Early Years Play Worker to support Child Development Officers at Madras Family Centre. Responsibilities include assisting with practical tasks, preparing teaching materials and resources, preparing for snack times, and supporting children during mealtimes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Applicants must have, or be willing to undertake, a minimum qualification of SVQ Level 2 (or NC equivalent) in child care and education, or an equivalent qualification recognized by SSSC.
- If applicants do not possess the required qualification upon application, they must source and fund this training themselves and complete the course within 5 years of starting the role.
- Experience working in a nursery environment with children aged 0–5 years is desirable.

- This position is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
- If you have lived or worked outside the UK in the past 10 years, an overseas police check may be required.
Registration Requirements:
- This role requires Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration. You must currently be registered or eligible to apply from the start of employment.
- You must apply to register within the first 3 months of employment to ensure registration is complete within 6 months of starting.
