This is an exciting time to join our Team as we have implemented a new structure within the department to enhance the way we work and improve how we deliver our services to our communities. Our Response Centre is also about to undergo a complete refurbishment to provide a new and modern working environment.
You will provide effective call handling and arrange response using various communication systems within our 24/7/365 control room, including the provision of the Council’s Telecare Alarms Service to elderly and vulnerable residents. You will receive, assess and action calls from our council services, staff and members of the public including services which require emergency responses. You will also take initial action when you receive police observation requests.
You will monitor our CCTV systems scanning East Renfrewshire to identify anti-social, criminal and suspicious activity. As our eyes, you will report activity to the relevant authorities to help keep East Renfrewshire safe. You will be part of the front line response in dealing with anti-social behaviour and neighbour disputes in real time.
An important part of the job is maintaining and updating accurate records of all control room activities and services using the relevant databases and Microsoft packages. The post is subject to a Level 1 Disclosure Check and a police vetting procedure.
