About the Role

Ever wondered how we decide what goes on our shelves, where it goes and how we know it's working?

We're looking for a Merchandising Analyst to join our Commercial team for a 12-month secondment.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is curious about food retail and wants to develop their commercial, analytical and systems skills. You don't need previous merchandising or analysis experience - we're looking for someone with the right attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn.

You'll work alongside Commercial Managers and colleagues across our Commercial, Supply Chain and Store teams, gaining hands-on experience of how product ranges are planned, promotions are delivered and performance is reviewed across our stores.

Based at Wherstead Park with a minimum of three days per week on-site, you'll be supported to build your confidence and develop a strong understanding of how commercial decisions translate into the customer experience at shelf edge.

If you're ready to try something new and build your career in Commercial, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support range reviews by preparing and updating planograms.
  • Work with Commercial Managers to understand store needs and product performance.
  • Publish planograms and support their implementation across our stores.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of promotions.
  • Review performance data and store feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate merchandising information across systems and reports.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Supply Chain and Store colleagues.
  • Develop your knowledge of merchandising systems, commercial reporting and retail strategy.

What You'll Need

  • A genuine curiosity about how products, data and customer experience come together.
  • A willingness to learn new technical and commercial skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and an organised approach.
  • Confidence working with numbers, reports or systems.
  • Good communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to work with different teams.
  • The ability to work at Wherstead Park a minimum of three days per week.

Previous merchandising or analytical experience isn't essential. What we're really looking for is someone with the motivation to learn, ask questions and make the most of the opportunity.

Why Join Us?

This is more than a role - it's an opportunity to try something different, learn new skills and see how Commercial decisions shape the experience our customers have in our stores.

Whether you're already working with data and systems or simply curious about what happens behind the scenes, we'll give you the support and exposure to build your confidence and develop your career.
