EEAST Patient Transport Services are looking for engaging and dedicated trainers to join their small team to deliver training to staff across the service.

Training Officers will be responsible for delivering mandatory and statutory training for local management, operational, and support staff within their given area. This will include regular Induction training courses for new staff at Welwyn Garden City.

They will also support and advise the operational staff in emergency procedures, patient care and equipment usage. In turn from this, the post holder will be expected to assist operational staff with moving patients that have challenging and complex needs and/or within complex environments.

Successful candidates will be required to be an ambassador of the Trust’s values, good practices, and PTS training strategies.

Suitable applicants will also have good time management skills, administrative skills, and able to work both as an individual and as part of a team.

The role will require travelling to all PTS sites across the region to conduct training and other operational duties. Access to own vehicle for work purposes will be required.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will link in with, support, and advise local operational management in day-to-day operational procedures in patient care and safe use of equipment usage.
They will also support and advise the operational staff in emergency procedures, patient care and equipment usage. In turn from this, the post holder will be expected to assist operational staff with moving patients that have challenging and complex needs and/or within complex environments.
They will oversee running PTS induction courses . This will lead to managing the on boarding processing within the local operational teams, planning, and overseeing observational ride outs, buddy networks, and progress reviews.
The post holder will be accountable for the mandatory and statutory compliance in their given area. To monitor and strategically plan for this, they will be required to remain in constant contact and attend
regular meetings with the PTS Training Manager, supporting the manager with project and future training developments.
