The Local Area Manager is a key role within the Directorate and will provide effective leadership and direction to all staff and managers at Peterborough Ambulance Station. The post holder will work with the Head of Clinical Operations to ensure the implementation and future development of EEAST’s Clinical/UEC strategy, focusing internally on Trust development.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Providing 24-hour, 365 days a year urgent care to those in need of emergency and non-emergency medical treatment and transport in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
  • Innovating approaches and working together to offer the best possible patient care across our counties.
  • Representing and valuing the diversity of our local communities through our workforce and service provision.
  • Supporting employees in achieving a balance between work and other priorities, such as caring responsibilities, family commitments, further learning, and other interests.

Essential criteria include:

  • Educated to Master’s level or equivalent experience at a senior level in a specialist area.
  • Understanding of current health care policy and its implications.
  • Developed communication skills for delivering key messages to a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify risks, anticipate issues, and create solutions.
  • Evidence of planning and delivering programmes and projects on time.
  • Financial and staff management abilities.
  • Ability to work without supervision and interpret national policy for implementation.
  • Promoting equality of opportunity and good working relationships.
  • Experience in budget responsibility and financial processes.

All references from current and previous employers will be sought via their Human Resources Department and must cover a minimum of 3 years employment. All appointments will be subject to currently having a clean disciplinary record.
