The EOC Training and Education team is looking to recruit 2 full-time EOC Dispatch Educators in a regional capacity.

Main duties of the job:
  • Delivering dispatch training across all three EOC sites.
  • Providing written and practical assessments of trainees.
  • Delivering one-to-ones and return to role support for existing members of staff.
  • Writing and designing training materials for both the new starter course and ongoing training for existing staff members.

Person specification:Qualifications:
  • Essential criteria: 4 GCSEs Grade C or above or equivalent.
  • Certified and fully trained Dispatcher.
  • In date EMD-Q (or willingness to obtain in the first 3 months).
  • Completed/in progress Award in Education & Training Level 3 (or equivalent) or willingness to complete in the first 3 months.
  • Desirable criteria: Management or supervisory qualification, MPDS Instructor, Degree Level Qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience:
  • Essential criteria: Demonstrable experience in an Emergency Operations Centre.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering training within the last 3 years, or experience in mentoring trainees regularly in any setting.
  • Remain current with call handling/dispatch functions to assist the EOC in times of high demand and/or business continuity incidents.
  • Desirable criteria: Strong understanding and ability to use the CAD system.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Essential criteria: Able to use a multitude of IT systems/Microsoft Office software for the creation and delivery of training.
  • Ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent planning and management of own workload and the ability to prioritise effectively.
Personal Qualities, Abilities and Attributes:
  • Essential criteria: Ability to remain calm and poised in routine and difficult situations.
  • Able to be flexible to meet the demand of Training Team Schedule.
  • Ability to independently travel to all three EOC sites to deliver training, as required.
