Make Ready are a dedicated and vital support network which assists our front-line clinicians in providing excellent care to people living in the East of England, 365 days/year, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day covering six counties - Beds, Cambs, Essex, Herts, Norfolk, and Suffolk.
This dynamic role has shift pattern covering 12-hr days & nights over 365 days.

Your role will involve supervising the day to day operations and performance of a Make Ready centre. Our operations are responsible for preparing ambulances for operational duty and to maintain the serviceability of emergency ambulances, equipment and consumables.
The Trust has embarked on a transformation plan to ensure we can meet the challenges of the future by taking delivery of purpose-built ambulances and vehicles, and we have also commissioned the building and upgrading of a large number our Hubs across all six counties that we cover.
Main duties of the job
As well as supervising the running of the team, you will be responsible for assisting the Group Leads in staff training, development and discipline.
Undertaking appraisals, timesheets, sickness interviews and annual leave requests will also be within your remit. You will be required to ensure that your team prepare ambulances to the agreed standard, ready for operational duties.
Arranging of rotas to ensure staffing lines remain at the required levels and liaise with several internal/external contacts to ensure that you are able to respond effectively to changing operational needs, maintaining the availability of vehicles.
You will also ensure accurate records are maintained to record the correct levels of stock and equipment assets are assigned to each vehicle.
You will need to be willing to work shifts, include nights and weekends and be flexible in line with service needs. Good communication skills and a basic understanding of IT is essential along with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Your role will also involve moving ambulances and vehicles so a UK driving licence with a C1 is mandatory.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate substantial supervisory experience covering all aspects of people management.

Qualifications
- English and Maths GCSE’s level 4 or equivalent level of education along with NVQ level 3 in appropriate subject or relevant experience
- Full manual UK driving licence (maximum of 3 points dependent upon code)
- C1 Licence - commitment to attaining a full C1 within 12 months of commencement into role is mandatory.
- Completion of RFID/Telematics internal course within 6 months of starting role.
Experience
- Experience of reviewing staff rosters, to include an understanding of Business Continuity & Sickness Management with the ability to plan & forecast effectively
- Substantial supervisory experience covering all aspects of people management and of working to tight deadlines. Managing/prioritising tasks.
