Vacancies available: Team Leader vacancy available in Luton. Please note that this is a 6 month secondment, with a possible extension to 12 months, pending operational need. This is a truncated process, meaning the role cannot be offered as a permanent position after 12 months, should your offer be extended to this point.

Main duties of the job: The Trust is committed to developing our Team Leaders so that if they wish to, they can become the future leaders of the organisation. Team Leaders will have access to EEAST's Leadership Development Framework. The Team Leader will support the running of the locality in conjunction with the Leading Operations Manager, including welfare, performance management, absence management, completion of appraisals and clinical leadership, as well as providing support following adverse or traumatic incidents.

If you are successful in becoming a Team Leader and are currently working on an RRV, the role will require you to transition to a DSA for your patient-facing shifts. This is to ensure Team Leaders have maximum interaction with their teams and staff, all patient-facing duties will be carried out on a DSA. If you are successful in application and assessment for this role, you will be invited to attend a 3 day Team Leader 'Kickstarter' induction. During the training course, it is your responsibility to attend in full, on each day. Accommodation and travel expenses will not be provided.

Working for our organisation: EEAST employs over 5,000 staff with a further 1,000+ volunteers who cover 7,500 square miles and care for a population of more than 6 million. Our three control rooms handle more than 1 million 999 calls every year, over 2,500 calls a day. We manage a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles including double staffed ambulances, rapid response cars, operational commander response vehicles, patient transport and support service vehicles.

To apply, you will be a HCPC registered Paramedic or NMC registered Nurse, and if applicable, you will have also fully completed a Newly Qualified Paramedic consolidation programme, evidence of this will be required. You will also be expected to provide a portfolio detailing your experience of working within the emergency ambulance service or primary healthcare setting. Applicants are expected to have an existing full C1 licence. Emergency Response Driving Qualification certificate is desirable, however you will be expected to gain this qualification if successfully appointed.

Qualifications: Essential criteria include being an experienced HCPC registered Paramedic or NMC registered Nurse, qualified IHCD Emergency Driving (D2) or superseding award or willing to gain within 3 months, and holding a full UK driving licence (up to 3 points may be considered depending on point code).

Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Essential criteria include confident interpersonal skills and the ability to lead a pre-hospital team lead role in clinical decisions.

Practical and Intellectual Skills, Personal Qualities and Attributes: Essential criteria include commitment to ensuring patients receive a high standard of patient care, ability to motivate others, and commitment to continuous professional development.

You will be required to hold a full UK manual driving licence with a minimum of 1 years driving experience (maximum of 3 penalty points for minor motoring offences only).

Occupational Health: Applicants are advised that EEAST adheres to the recommendations of the Department of Health Medical Advisory Panel relating to health standards for frontline emergency response roles.

Disclosure and Barring Service check: This position involves regulated activity which will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at enhanced level with child and adult barred list check.

All appointments will be subject to currently having a clean disciplinary record. Please be advised that a No Smoking Policy is in operation throughout the Trust.
