This advert is for bank Qualified Paramedic vacancies in Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Colchester and Clacton. East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) welcomes applications from experienced qualified Paramedics on a full-time or part-time contract. You will be joining a workforce recognised for delivering outstanding care to our patients, where teamwork and quality is embedded into our day-to-day practice.
Main duties of the job:
- Deliver the very best care to our patients with the support of a dedicated team of clinical staff, volunteers, call handlers, dispatchers and support staff.
- Work with other allied health professionals in partnership organisations in both hospital and community-based services to ensure timely referrals and discharge.
- Manage a wide range of environments, across both urban and rural areas, handling everything from birth to end of life, chronic conditions to critical illness or injury.
Upon successful completion of your application and pre-employment checks, you will be invited to attend a two-week induction at one of our Education Training Centres followed by a supportive local induction at your allocated locality. Please note: During the training course, it is your responsibility to attend in full, on each day. Accommodation and travel expenses will not be provided.

To apply, you will be a HCPC registered Paramedic. Evidence of completing a Newly Qualified Paramedic consolidation programme will be required. You will also need to provide a portfolio detailing your experience of working within the emergency ambulance service or primary healthcare setting. Applicants are expected to have an existing full C1 licence. Emergency Response Driving Qualification certificate is desirable.
Essential criteria:
- Paramedic registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (or superseding body)
- Qualified IHCD Emergency Driving (D2) or superseding award
- Full UK driving licence with Full C1 category with 2 years driving experience (maximum of 3 penalty points for minor driving offences)
Desirable criteria:
- PHTLS
- Advanced Life Support
- Diploma/degree in Paramedic Science
- College of Paramedics member
Essential qualities:
- Committed to ensuring patients receive a high standard of patient care
- Hold a full UK manual driving licence with a minimum of 1 year’s driving experience (maximum of 3 penalty points for minor motoring offences only)
Occupational Health: EEAST adheres to the recommendations of the Department of Health Medical Advisory Panel relating to health standards for frontline emergency response roles. This position involves regulated activity which will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at enhanced level with child and adult barred list check.
