Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Patient Transport Services resources, ensuring effective planning, control, and forward planning of patient transport.
  • Liaise with ambulance crews, volunteer car drivers, private ambulance services, hospitals/clinics, patients, and other relevant agencies to provide a high-quality and efficient service.
  • Monitor and rearrange journeys to support the service and patient experience.
  • Record journey times accurately and promptly, answer incoming calls professionally and effectively, and escalade actions in line with local guidance.
  • Remain composed, focused, and efficient in high-pressure situations, ensuring Patient Transport Services run smoothly despite unexpected challenges.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Dynamic thinker capable of supporting local day control and planning of patient journeys.
  • Ability to plan patient journeys to and from home/hospital using our cleric system and against set key performance indicators.
  • Calm approach under pressure with geographical knowledge of working areas.
  • Customer service skills, with experience liaising with patients, clinics, and staff.
  • Follow the Trust’s vision and values.
  • Eligibility for a Skilled Worker visa (UK) or willingness to comply with UK visa requirements as outlined on the GOV.UK website.
