As Safety Data Co-ordinator your role will be to provide administrative support within the HSSE Team in regard to entry, analysis, reporting and recording of all HSSE incidents and train incidents.

Some of the key accountabilities for this role will include:-

o In line with Railway Group Standards, ensure that data in relation to Health, Safety, Security and Environmental events, including rolling stock defects are input to our systems.

o Ensure a process is in place for timely reporting of, accidents and incidents to the Office and Rail Regulator and Rail Accident Investigation Branch as required by legislation.

o Manage the cleansing and updating of the SMIS & internal System Data and ensuring completeness and accuracy, questioning the originator to provide a full description of accidents and incidents and any responses with regards to local investigations and control measures put in place.

o Maintain data relating to fatalities/suicides involving East Midlands Railway

o Provide team organiser support to the HSSE team, including secretarial support for team meetings

o Provide admin Support for the Joint Safety Committee, arranging and minute taking meetings.

o Represent EMR at relevant RSSB SMIS meetings and is proactively involved in any changes.

o Excellent organisational skills

o Experience of using Word and Excel, the ability to utilise in order to create documents and tracking information to communicate clearly data output and updates.

o Strong communication skills

o Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others

o A good understanding of the railway and understanding of organizational issues and challenges

o Good knowledge of relevant Industry standards and legislation
