The Role

We are currently recruiting a Retail Assistant to join our friendly team at Loughborough Station.

Hours: 37 hours per week (5 days out of 7, including weekends)

As a Retail Assistant, you will be at the heart of the station experience β€” providing excellent customer service, supporting passengers with their journeys, and helping to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment while maximising revenue.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver a high-quality ticket retailing and customer care service
  • Provide accurate, timely travel information to customers
  • Assist customers with reservations and travel arrangements
  • Support disabled passengers and those who may need extra help
  • Make station announcements for train arrivals and departures
  • Carry out station cleaning duties to keep the environment safe and presentable
  • Ensure posters and information displays are current and well maintained
  • Handle cash and station accounts in line with strict procedures
  • Carry out fire, security, and safety checks, including Evacuation Warden duties
  • Maintain vigilance to ensure the station is safe in all conditions, including winter weather
  • Take responsibility for station equipment and health
