About the role:
- As part of the production team, you will be part of the maintenance team working towards set production targets to ensure trains meet ever exacting and challenging standards, ensuring they are delivered to customers on time and safely.
- Service, maintain, repair and overhaul traction and rolling stock components to the designated maintenance exam standard.
- Carry out cleaning and labouring duties for all areas of the workshop and vehicles.
- Operate fuel line and depot equipment.
- Drive and operate cranes and road vehicles if a valid license is held.
- Ensure all work is carried out to defined quality and safety standards.
- Assist with special projects and additional tasks specified by depot management.
About you:
- You will have practical experience of maintenance within a busy and quality focused engineering environment.
- It would be preferable to hold certification or licences for depot equipment, but this can be trained if necessary.
- It is desirable to have knowledge or experience of railway industry recognised standards, however not essential, and we would welcome applications from candidates with a background in other similar maintenance and repair environments.
- You will be an excellent communicator and team player, who thrives working at pace in a collaborative environment, as well as a motivational leader with the ability to get the best out of a team.
- Our depots operate 24/7 and you will work shifts, for which you will receive a shift allowance.
- You also need to live within 60 minutes’ travelling time of the depot or be prepared to re-locate if you are offered the role.
