We are recruiting on behalf of our client for experienced Mechanical Fitters to join their expanding team. The role will involve working in a busy environment with pumps, compressors, conveyors, transmission drives, couplings, gear boxes, fans etc., both in workshop and on-site environments. Based in Heanor, Derbyshire.
Duties:
- Moving of machinery, e.g. conveyors
- Inspection of own work to ensure it meets quality standards
- Work in a safe manner, in compliance with company procedures
What we are looking for:
- Apprenticeship/time served in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience
- Knowledge and understanding of maintenance within the Process & Water Treatment Industry
- In-depth knowledge of relevant engineering techniques
- Sound mechanical engineering knowledge, materials properties and failure mechanisms (stress, fatigue, corrosion)
- Broad knowledge from the component level (bearings, shafts, welding etc.)
- Thorough knowledge of plant & equipment operations & reliability
- Safety Passport

- Counterbalance FLT
- IPAF
- SMA
- Use of overhead gantry cranes
- Ability to read and understand technical engineering drawings
- Use of general workshop equipment associated with this role to include Pillar Drills, Saws, Hand Held Power Tools
What's in it for you:
- Hours of work will be Monday - Thursday 8am - 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm
- Overtime will be available
- A temporary contract from June until October (however, there could be subsequent contracts)
- Pay £17-£20/hour
