We’re now looking for an analytical and proactive Performance Risk & Assurance Manager to join our Performance Strategy team in Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in helping EMR achieve its performance targets and deliver a safe, reliable and sustainable railway for the East Midlands.
What you’ll be doing
- Monitor and report on EMR’s operational performance against contractual benchmarks.
- Identify and analyse risks, trends and opportunities — helping to inform business decisions.
- Provide accurate performance reporting and data‑driven insight to senior stakeholders.
- Manage and maintain performance risk registers and assurance processes.
- Work collaboratively across the East Midlands Joint Partnership, including Network Rail.
- Lead workshops and presentations to build understanding of operational performance and risk.
You’ll be a detail‑focused and data‑driven professional who thrives on improving performance and managing risk. You’ll also bring:
- Strong analytical and IT skills, ideally with Power BI, Tableau or Business Objects experience.
- A good understanding of performance management frameworks and KPIs.
- The ability to communicate complex data clearly to all audiences.
- Excellent stakeholder management, presentation and report‑writing skills.
- (Desirable) Knowledge of rail performance systems such as TRUST, Compass or Integrale.
