This is a high-impact role where you’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery - driving our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) agenda while shaping leadership development and organisational effectiveness. This is a part-time role working 34 hours a week.
At EMR we want to proactively embrace diversity across our workforce and recognise that we are under-represented in terms of females and ethnic minority groups. - Partnering with senior stakeholders, unions and employee networks to drive a culture of respect and engagement bringing culture change to life
- Leading and supporting Employee Network Groups to deliver tangible outcomes
- Designing and delivering leadership and management development programmes aligned to our leadership competencies
- Driving continuous improvement through external accreditations (e.g. Top Employers, Inclusion Standards, Disability Confident)
- Supporting the delivery of our annual performance management and talent development cycle to build leadership capability
- Facilitating team development using tools such as Strength Deployment Inventory to enhance performance and collaboration
- Using insight, data and feedback to evaluate impact and continuously improve
About you
You’re an experienced Organisation Development professional who brings energy, credibility and a genuine passion for inclusion and people development. You’ll also bring:

- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, including senior leadership
- Experience designing and delivering leadership development, training and engagement initiatives
- Excellent facilitation skills, able to create open, inclusive and engaging environments
- A strong understanding of the EDI landscape and a curiosity to keep learning
- The confidence to challenge thinking and drive meaningful change
- Experience using tools such as Strength Deployment Inventory or similar (desirable)
- Professional Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (MCIPD), or equivalent experience.
As well as a competitive salary, we’ll also offer you:
- 32 days’ holiday per year, rising to 34 after 2 years
- Free standard leisure travel on the EMR network and Train Operating Companies under Transport UK & LNER
- 75% discount on national leisure travel (including partner and dependants)
- Friends and Family discounted tickets on the EMR network
- Employee benefits portal with access to generous discounts, Cycle 2 Work Scheme …and many more!
EMR has a hybrid working policy which is applicable for this role. This means the role can be based at home 2-3 days per week and on site 2-3 days per week. Should you wish to work full time on site, this is also an option. We are open-minded to applications from people who wish to have flexible working. Many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you need.
