We have an exciting opportunity to join #TeamEMR as an Occupational Safety Standards and Compliance Manager. We’re looking for a highly skilled safety professional to lead and manage EMR’s Occupational Safety Management System (SMS). This is a pivotal role ensuring our occupational health and safety practices not only meet legislation and industry standards but also support continual improvement across the business.
Main Duties of the Role:- Managing and evolving our occupational SMS to remain fully compliant and fit for purpose.
- Leading the audit and assurance programme, ensuring robust safety performance across the business.
- Maintaining and continually improving our Compliance Register and Safety Certification.
- Providing expert advice on occupational and fire safety.
- Representing EMR at key industry forums to influence, align and innovate safety practices.
- Leading and developing a specialist occupational safety standards and compliance team.
- Substantial experience in health and safety leadership in a safety-critical environment—rail industry preferred.
- Deep understanding of UK health and safety legislation and rail industry standards.
- Level 6 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent experience).
- Chartered membership of IOSH.
- Proven leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
- Expertise in health and safety risk management and SMS best practice.
