Job Summary
We are looking for a Production Planner to direct and lead in the operational planning, ensuring that products are produced in the most cost-effective method, on time and in full against customer requirements. To support improvements in operational efficiencies, analytical analysis of customer forecasts and supply chain improvements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate, capacity-aligned production schedules.
- Monitor finished goods inventory to ensure product availability and minimise excess.
- Contribute to ERP/MRP system improvements and planning processes.
- Issue clear job cards to Production Supervisors for scheduled work.
- Identify and support management of slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Provide timely data and insights for operational and strategic planning.
- Respond effectively to demand changes or production issues.
- Support Production Planning Manager in identifying potential supply issues and develop plans to minimise them.
- Support wider business goals through efficient planning.
Role Deliverables
- Timely, accurate production plans aligned with forecast and capacity.
- High product availability with reduced stockouts and excess inventory.
- Effective communication and alignment with key departments.
- Support continuous improvement in planning tools and processes.
- Proactive handling of slow-moving stock and inventory risks.

Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and their application in planning processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Desired:
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or FMCG sector.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of supply chain operations including inventory, logistics, and procurement.
