Fixed-term appointment of 6 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Are you passionate about delivering high-quality, efficient waste and recycling services that make a real difference to local communities? Bassetlaw District Council is looking for an experienced and motivated Waste Management Services Manager to lead the delivery and continuous improvement of our waste, recycling, street cleansing and fleet & transport service across the district.
No two days will be the same in this fast-paced and rewarding role. You’ll spend time both in the office and out on site where you will provide operational delivery and strategic direction across all aspects of waste, recycling, street cleansing and fleet & transport service. Ensuring statutory obligations are met, you will also lead the service forward—promoting innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement, always supporting the Council’s ambitions around sustainability and carbon reduction.
This is a key leadership role within our Waste Services, offering a genuine opportunity to shape the future of waste management in Bassetlaw.
The successful applicant will have strong legislative knowledge, project management skills, experience of managing high value budgets and ensuring high standards of health and safety and performance management across a large multi-disciplinary workforce.
