NEDDC is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Property, Estates and Assets Caretaking team based at District Council Offices, Wingerworth. If you are interested in working as part of a team, enjoy undertaking a variety of duties and are committed to providing excellent service we’d like to hear from you.
The successful candidate will join a small team providing Caretaking support, Chauffeuring, Courier and light maintenance duties part time, 2 days per week, Thursday / Friday 11.00am to 7.00pm. (Contract shifts may vary to meet service need).
Duties will include:
- General repairs/maintenance
- Security
- Maintaining appearance of Council offices and surrounding areas
- Ensuring the building heating system operates at optimum efficiency
In addition to general Caretaking duties, the post holder will contribute to NEDDC’s Courier and Chauffeuring service and provide operational evening/weekend (rota) cover as required.
Applicants should hold a full UK driving license and should be competent at general DIY/repairs. Experience of providing caretaking duties/building management would be ideal but is not essential.
In return, the successful candidate will receive excellent terms and conditions of employment, including generous leave entitlement, training and development together with access to the local government pension scheme.
Due to the nature of the post, the Caretaker may be called out at any time to attend/deal with emergencies that occur at the District Council Offices.
