We are looking for an individual to join Tenancy Services as a Housing Officer on a permanent basis, working in one of our Tenancy Management teams. The teams provide the front-line service to Council tenants in the City of Lincoln, dealing with such issues as rent arrears, anti-social behaviour and general estate management duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an effective and efficient high quality tenancy management service to the tenants and leaseholders living in the council’s housing stock in order to maintain a good landlord / tenant relationship and strive towards tenancy sustainment.
  • Maximise the council’s rental income through effective income management and arrears recovery.
  • Ensure and enforce compliance with the tenancy agreement and carry out effective management of the estate environment, promoting and supporting effective resident involvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum six months experience of working in social housing, tenancy management or related public service field.
  • Knowledge of tenancy management issues relevant to registered housing providers.
  • Ability to handle conflict and adopt a firm but fair approach.
  • Experience of effective negotiation.
  • Ability to make decisions using own initiative.
