North East Derbyshire District Council is a dynamic and ambitious organisation that takes pride in delivering excellent services to our community. Killamarsh Active offers a great working environment for staff, with new facilities introduced in 2022. The sports centre comprises a 4 courts sports hall, 2 squash courts, fitness studio, spin studio, large soft play kingdom, 80 station 2 floor fitness suite, café, 4G football pitch, and meeting rooms.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of gymnastics coaching for all ages and varying levels, the ability to prepare class plans, deal effectively with customers face to face, and have a flexible approach to work.

To be successful you will need:

  • Good understanding of modern gymnastics and trampoline techniques
  • Good understanding of safeguarding in the coaching environment
  • Good understanding of safety aspects of exercise
  • General Gymnastics Level 1
  • General Gymnastics Level 2 (Not necessary at application stage but must be achieved within 6 to 12 months of commencement in post)
  • Practical experience in coaching gymnastics at different levels

The successful candidates will be subject to a Disclosure carried out by the DBS at the Enhanced Level. The post is normally based at Killamarsh Active but the successful candidate must be willing to work at any of the council’s establishments should the need arise.
