The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.

This is a great opportunity to play a key role at the head of the Council’s democratic processes. As one of our Governance and Scrutiny Officers, you’ll support effective meeting management and evidence-based scrutiny. North East Derbyshire District Council is a dynamic and ambitious organisation that takes pride in delivering excellent services to our community whilst driving economic growth and environmental sustainability for the district.

Our Governance Team keep the Council’s democratic and constitutional arrangements running smoothly – supporting committees and councillors, maintaining the Constitution, supporting the scrutiny process and running the Civic Office. You will plan and administer meetings, draft agendas and minutes, help coordinate scrutiny work, and provide clear advice to Members and officers on governance and scrutiny processes.

To be successful you will need:

  • To be organised, with great attention to detail and calm under pressure
  • Great communication skills – being confident working with elected Members, senior officers and the public with professionalism and discretion
  • Excellent written communication – able to produce clear agendas and accurate minutes
  • Good digital skills, ideally including committee management systems (e.g., Modern.Gov) and MS 365 tools
