Are you passionate about involving children and their families to make key decisions and safe plans for their child’s welfare? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! This unique role is one of three positions across North East Derbyshire, Bolsover, and Amber Valley that are taking part in a 12‑month trial focused on supporting and coordinating Family Group Conferences.
The Family group conferencing model will be used in Derbyshire to bring family and friends together to look at how they can collectively provide safe and viable solutions for children to be cared for within their family unit.
ResponsibilitiesYour role is to organise the meeting and assist the family to come to their own decisions about how they will care for their children. You will understand the importance of facilitating the participation of young people and their families to assist them to come together to make decisions about their welfare of their children. Good communication skills and the ability to engage quickly with service users will be essential, alongside skills in negotiation and mediation.
