Castle Donington College is an 11-16 school with around 700 pupils (Years 7–11). The college joined the East Midlands Education Trust in January 2022. In June 2024 we received an Ofsted rating of Good. We aim to support our pupils and staff to achieve their best, guided by the motto: Work Hard, Take Responsibility, Be Kind.

Salary: M1 – UPS3 £32,916 – £51,048 per annum + TLR2c £8,217.

Job type: Full-time, permanent.

Start date: As soon as possible.

Responsibilities

  • The Head of Humanities will lead the teaching staff for history, geography, PPE (RE and citizenship) and music.
  • Lead and develop curriculum and teaching across the Humanities department.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching geography or history at KS3 and KS4, and experience teaching one or more of the other subjects at KS3 and KS4 within the department.
  • Teach Edexcel GCSE History and Geography; OCR GCSE Citizenship; Eduqas GCSE Music.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Meet the requirements of the person specification for the post.
  • Undergo a full enhanced DBS check.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK.
