Are you passionate about improving educational outcomes for young people and helping shape a fair, inclusive environment for our school communities? At the East Midlands Education Trust, we are entering an exciting strategic phase (2026-2029) focused on building an ecosystem where every student and colleague belongs, grows, and is heard. To help us achieve this vision, we are seeking committed and enthusiastic individuals to join our Local Governing Bodies.

Governors play a vital role in providing strategic leadership, driving accountability, and ensuring our schools deliver the highest standards of education and care. As a Governor, you will help us champion our three core pillars:

  • Belonging: Support senior leaders in embedding consistent, fair, and values-led practices that strengthen staff and student wellbeing.
  • Growth: Help oversee clear development pathways, investing in leadership and professional progress across our schools.
  • Voice: Ensure that the interests of parents, staff, and local stakeholders are genuinely heard to shape the future of the Trust.
  • Strategic Oversight: Responsibly challenge and support school leaders to manage resources effectively and drive continuous improvement.

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, life experiences, and professions. While no specific prior board experience is required, we are particularly keen to hear from individuals with backgrounds or interest in:

  • Human Resources & Employment Law (to support our evolving corporate policy frameworks).
  • Digital Transformation, Data Analytics, or IT Infrastructure (as we navigate new system integrations).
  • Finance, Pay Structure, & Governance.
  • Community Development & Safeguarding.

Most importantly, we value a desire to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of others.
