The children, staff and Governors of Melbourne Junior School are seeking to appoint an outstanding, enthusiastic, experienced and caring Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work across years 3 to 6.
This role would suit a graduate who is considering a career in teaching, or an established Teaching Assistant looking further their career.
The post will involve teaching whole classes while covering PPA for teachers, and supporting groups of children with additional needs, preparing resources and delivering interventions.
You must
- Have gained an NVQ Level 3 qualification for classroom assistants or equivalent as a minimum requirement
- Have also gained the HLTA status or hold a Level 4 qualification
- Have experience working as a TA and be able to demonstrate the ability to work with whole classes of children
- Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Have a passion for working with pupils with a variety of needs
- Be a motivational communicator for children of all abilities ensuring learning is engaging and inclusive
- Have the ability to build strong relationships with children and good classroom management skills
- Be an innovative practitioner with a commitment to promoting the inclusion agenda
- Be able to work effectively within the team to ensure there are high quality and effective learning opportunities for all children
- Be very flexible and adapt quickly to change
- Have a willingness to undertake training
- Have a sense of humour
