Creswell Infant and Nursery School is a nurturing and inclusive school located in the heart of an ex-mining community near Bolsover. We currently welcome 192 pupils from Foundation Stage 2 to Year 2, along with a 48-place nursery offering 15-hour provision. Guided by our Christian vision - ‘Together with God, we shine in all we do’ - we are a dedicated team with the ambition of championing every child, where each is celebrated, nurtured, and given the opportunity to shine.

The Headteacher and Governors would like to recruit a Play Worker for a new project. In the Spring term, we will be introducing a new after school club, and along with our Breakfast Club facility, this will provide full wrap around care for our children. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to be involved from the start!

The successful candidate will join us as soon as possible and no later than the April term. You will work each school day after school, with hours expected to be 3.00pm to 6.00pm. Whilst this is a fixed term contract for 12 months, we do hope to extend.

About the role:

  • Working alongside the Wraparound Leader, you will support and assist in the day to day operation of the after-school club.
  • Delivering activities that are interesting, fun and appropriate for the age group.
  • Leading activities such as sports, crafts and games.
  • Supervising children and ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Preparing snacks and drinks, administering first aid, setting up and clearing equipment.
  • Building strong relationships with our parents and the teaching team.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children in a play or educational setting.
  • Hold a relevant childcare or play work qualification.
  • Have knowledge of appropriate play activities, sports, games, crafts, stories, songs and dance.
  • Possess a food hygiene certificate, or be willing to complete one.
  • Have a first aid certificate, or be willing to complete one.
  • Have a basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
