We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to help Derbyshire Dales District Council continue its journey to being a net zero organisation by 2030.

The Council is committed to enhancing the biodiversity of the district through our Nature Delivery Plan and the post holder will lead the delivery of projects in this plan, seeking opportunities for funding and collaborative working.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who can show us a real passion for environmental issues and who will be able to successfully engage with the Council, partners, businesses, residents and the wider community to influence positive action.

Our new ambitious Corporate Plan has a ‘green thread’ running right through it, so the successful candidate will be required to work across the full range of Council services, taking on the responsibility for driving forward our plans and monitoring and reporting on progress.

You should have:

  • A passion for the environment with a sound working knowledge of climate change and biodiversity issues
  • Highly developed project management skills
  • Effective communication and inter-personal skills
  • Experience of multi-agency working
  • Enthusiastic, creative and have a positive approac
