General Roles and Responsibilities
Teacher for the Caterpillar Pod, under the direction of the Head of School, will:
- Support teaching and learning within the Communication and Interaction Unit, ensuring high-quality, individualised provision that supports each pupil's progress, wellbeing, and personal development.
- Teach pupils within EYFS and KS1 with SEND, adapting teaching approaches to meet individual communication, interaction, and learning needs.
- Support the day-to-day operation of the Caterpillar Pod, including classroom organisation, resource preparation, and delivery of interventions.
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality teaching and learning experiences that promote engagement, independence, and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Pod and across the wider school, contributing to a consistent and reflective approach to practice.
- Work closely with parents, carers, external agencies, and multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure pupils receive coordinated and effective support.
- Participate in statutory duties including Annual Reviews, EHCP consultations, and admissions processes as appropriate.
- Maintain safeguarding standards, liaising with the DSL where appropriate, and ensure pupils' safety both on-site and off-site.
- Promote the ethos and values of the Caterpillar Pod and the Trust through high-quality teaching, professionalism, and a child-centred approach.
