We are looking for a class teacher to join our team at St. Martin's Primary School. St. Martin's RC Primary School is an inclusive Roman Catholic Primary School in the East Lothian town of Tranent, serving the needs of Roman Catholic and non-denominational pupils. With six classes from P1 - P7 our school roll is currently 111. We have a 24-pupil capacity nursery class which operates within the term time 38-week model of 1140 hours.
Through a nurturing approach, staff build positive relationships with learners. Our ethos is centred on the Catholic Faith and school values. We work flexibly to ensure that interventions are implemented to support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional needs. We strive to ensure that every child feels safe and valued. As a school community we work together to live out the mission of the school.
St. Martin's is a single storey building set in extensive grounds including an ECO Garden, allotment and St. Martin’s Wee Forest. We have a strong commitment to outdoor education.
Staff are committed to ensuring every child receives a high-quality education and support children to achieve their potential. St Martin's is committed to celebrating success, and pupils benefit from effective community partnerships including close links and regular work with our Parish. The school promotes collaborative working and shared leadership through the school improvement plan. St Martin's has an active Parent Council and families are encouraged to participate in all aspects of school life.

Job Details
- To undertake class-teaching duties
- Teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction.
- Develop the school curriculum.
- Assess, record and report on the work of pupils.
- Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with their administration.
- Provide advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education.
- Promote and safeguard the health, welfare and safety of pupils.
- Work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.
- Undertake appropriate and agreed Career Long Professional Development (CLPL).
- Participate in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review.
- Contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school.
