Musselburgh Grammar School is a vibrant and ambitious secondary school serving Musselburgh and the nearby village of Whitecraig. The Musselburgh community is strong, lively and loyal, and our school sits at its heart. Musselburgh is the largest town in East Lothian with easy access to the City Bypass and is only 5 miles east of Edinburgh city centre with excellent bus and train links.
We are a fully comprehensive school with approximately 800 pupils aged 12 to 18, and over 60 staff. We are looking for a passionate Teacher of Home Economics to join our Health & Wellbeing faculty. Provisionally registered teachers are welcome to apply, as well as part-time applicants (please note this in your application).

Job Details
- Teaching relevant subject through S1-S6.
- Perform duties assigned by the Head Teacher with regard to workload, including: teaching classes, preparation and correction.
- Developing the school curriculum.
- Assessing, recording and reporting on pupil work.
- Preparing pupils for examinations and assisting with administration.
- Providing advice and guidance to pupils on educational issues.
- Promoting and safeguarding the health, welfare and safety of pupils.
- Working in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.
- Undertaking appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.
- Participating in school planning, raising achievement and individual review.
- Contributing towards good order and the wider needs of the school.
