We are seeking an experienced and values-driven leader to join East Lothian HSCP as a Service Manager - Adult Services. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact across integrated adult health and social care services.
You will lead operational delivery of social work assessment and care management, ensuring strengths-based, person-centred practice that delivers on national and local outcomes. The role includes operational leadership for Adult Support and Protection, governance assurance, and oversight of statutory functions, ensuring high standards of safety, accountability, and compliance.
The post holder will drive continuous service improvement and lead on innovative models such as Home First, focusing on early intervention, prevention, and integrated discharge planning. You will also contribute to strategic transformation work and support delivery of the IJB\'s performance and financial objectives.
This is a pivotal leadership role requiring sound professional judgement, excellent people management skills, and a clear vision for high-quality, person-led adult services.
Applicants must be a registered social worker with substantial experience in managing adult services and leading teams through change.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Registered social worker or hold a first level degree.
Leadership/managerial postgraduate qualification or equivalent managerial experience including:
Supervising multiple teams of staff.
Managing budgets at significant levels, e.g. £1m+.
Leading change as opposed to contributing to a programme of change.
Performance management of staff e.g. management of grievances/ disciplinary proceedings.
Delivering on KPIs of a service for which they have been responsible.
Driving Licence A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.
PVG MembershipThis post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure Scotland Act 2020.
