The predicted salary is between 16.7 - 17.84 £ per hour.
The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly. Hourly rate of pay: £16.70 - £17.84. This is a 39-week sessional post i.e., working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days.
Days and Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, during school hours. To start 10th August 2026. The post is a permanent part time Pupil Support Worker in the Pupil Support Faculty. There are currently 4 Pupil Support Workers, and this replaces one of them.
Dunbar Grammar is a six-year, fully inclusive, comprehensive, non-denominational and co-educational school. It serves the town of Dunbar and the surrounding area. It is one of seven secondary schools in East Lothian. The present building was opened in 1961 and is situated in an attractive site in the centre of Dunbar. It has spacious playground areas and a games field within the school grounds. The school is fully equipped for disabled access. The school has been completely redeveloped as part of East Lothian Council's Private and Public Partnership scheme and as a result boasts excellent facilities, including a Games Hall, Fitness Room, Drama Studio and Recording Studio.
As part of the Pupil Support Team, provide support to secondary aged pupils (including Pupil Support Base) with a range of social emotional and behavioural difficulties in accordance with agreed aims, objectives and standards. Job Requirements
- Relevant Qualifications: A minimum of SVQ1/Standard Grade General level English/Maths or National 4 English/Maths or Literacy/Numeracy or Intermediate 1 Communication/Numeracy and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
- PVG Membership: This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
