The predicted salary is between 28757 - 35147 £ per year.

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay: £15.16 - £16.30

This is a 52 week non-sessional post i.e. it will include working during the school holidays.

Days and hours of work:

  • Monday, 09:30-15:15
  • Tuesday, 09:45-14:00
  • Wednesday, 12:00-14:00
  • Thursday, 09:30-13:30

This is an excellent opportunity to join our vibrant nursery team. There are currently 2 nursery rooms at West Loan Campus.

Preston Tower Primary School is located in the coastal town of Prestonpans. It is a very large school split over two campuses; We currently have over 700 children from Nursery – Primary 7. The school was established in 2019, following the amalgamation of 2 schools.

Our West Loan Campus currently has eleven P1 – P3 classes and two rooms in our nursery. Our Preston Road Campus has fifteen P4 – P7 classes.

The Senior Leadership Team includes our Head Teacher, 4 Depute Head Teachers, and a SfL Principal Teacher.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications

  • Education: Good standard of general education.
  • Must hold an SVQ in Social Services (Children & Young People) at SCQF Level 6 (or an alternative SSSC recognised equivalent qualification). If not already obtained, you must commit to achieve the SVQ in the appropriate period of registration to meet the SSSC registration requirements.
  • First Aid qualification or willingness to work towards gaining it.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or willingness to work towards gaining it.
  • SSSC registration or agreement to register within 6 months from the date of appointment to this post is essential.

PVG Membership

This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
