Job Details

Teaching a relevant subject through S1 – S6. The duties of teachers, promoted or unpromoted, are to perform tasks directed by the Head Teacher and relate to the following categories:

  • Teaching assigned classes together with preparation and correction.
  • Developing the school curriculum.
  • Assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ work.
  • Preparing pupils for examinations and assisting with administration.
  • Providing advice and guidance to pupils on educational issues.
  • Promoting and safeguarding pupil health, welfare and safety.
  • Working in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.
  • Undertaking appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.
  • Participating in issues related to school planning and raising achievement.
  • Contributing towards good order and the wider needs of the school.

Job Requirements

Registered with GTCS as a teacher of the relevant subject.

  • Permanent posts – GTCS Full registration (General).
  • Temporary posts – GTCS Full registration (General) / Provisional registration.

PVG Membership

This post is a regulated role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults. All candidates will be required to become a PVG Scheme member or undertake an update prior to any formal offer of employment. If you have worked or lived abroad for more than three months in the last five years you will need to provide an overseas criminal record check.
