The predicted salary is between 30500 - 32700 £ per year.
The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part‑time hours / sessional posts will be pro‑rated accordingly. Hourly rate of pay: £14.65 - £15.75. Temporary until 31st March 2026. This is a 52‑week non‑sessional post; you will be working during the school holidays.
Days and Hours of Work:
- Monday & Tuesday, 09:30‑15:30 (30 minute break)
- Wednesday & Thursday, 10:30‑14:30 (30 minute break)
- Friday, 09:30‑13:30
Starting and finishing times are flexible. Position starts 25th January 2026.
About the School:
Aberlady is a seven‑class school with a 48‑week model nursery offering two sessions per week (Monday‑Tuesday/Wednesday‑Thursday and alternate Fridays) in a semi‑rural location on the coastline of East Lothian. Our vision is "Care, Belong, Achieve".
Job Details:
Position: ASN Auxiliary – Additional Support Needs for Nursery. Provide care and assistance to individuals and small groups of pupils with additional support needs.
Job Requirements:
- Good standard of general education.
- Experience of working with or caring for children with additional support needs.
Certifications:
Nursery Only: SSSC registration is essential. New staff must apply for registration within 3 months of start date and be registered within 6 months.
Regulated Role:
This post is a regulated role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. All preferred candidates must be PVG Scheme members or undergo an update prior to formal offer. PVG memberships are continuously updated; any new vetting information relevant to the post will be discussed and investigated prior to offer. Applicants who have worked or lived outside the UK for more than 3 months within the last 5 years must present an overseas criminal record check.
